j camera 2 148DSC06418Pete Driscoll has been teaching physical education in Vermont since 2006.  He currently teaches 300 students, grades K-8, at the Hartland Elementary School.  Pete’s undergraduate studies focused on Sport Management, while his graduate work earned him certifications in elementary education and physical education.  In 2009 he was nominated for the Vermont Teacher of Year Award.  He earned his Crossfit Level one certification in 2010 and incorporates much of the Crossfit philosophy into his P.E. classes.  In addition, Pete coaches a middle school fitness team during the school year and runs fitness camps for students of all ages out of his home gym during the summer.  Practicing what he preaches, he also trains for obstacle course races, recently finishing in the top 1% at the Killington Beast Spartan Race.

In 2012 Pete and his wife taught in elementary classrooms at an international school in Vietnam. Upon returning to the States, Pete and his brother Jay founded Tabata Kids. Since inception, they have presented Tabata Kids to individual schools, entire districts, and at local, state, and national levels including multiple SHAPE (Society of Health and Physical Educators) America Conferences.

Pete’s passion for physical fitness and its proven benefits to enhance cognitive capacity, combined with Jay’s ability to create powerful music, sparked the brainchild for the Tabata Kids program!
